Is Farmville Getting You Paid?
Facebook is the second most visited website on the Internet today. So clearly Facebook is a powerful MLM marketing tool to reach out to the masses. I received a message from a disgruntled Facebook friend the other day. He claimed that MLM Online Marketing doesn’t work, he wasn’t getting any traffic and he wasn’t getting any leads for his MLM home business. I took a quick look at his profile page.
It was filled with Farmville.
I’ve mentioned first impressions before. If I was a potential prospect, looking online for information on an MLM Home Based Business and I came across his page, what would I think of him? Would he be the one I choose to lead me to Online MLM success? No chance.
Farmville is the fastest growing social game in history, with 11 million daily users in just over 2 months. We do love to waste our time don’t we? Farmville makes its money by selling virtual items and I was SHOCKED to see these online game applications had generated 2 Billion dollars is sales last year! So not only are millions spending their time on something that adds nothing to their asset column, but now they are spending Billions of dollars on it too. Wow.
People will join you and your MLM business because you offer them leadership and value. If I see that my leader is spending his time on Farmville, how on earth is he going help me achieve the success I want? How can this Internet Time Waster possibly know how to help me? New Networkers are looking for Mentors that can teach them what they need to do to generate results and income. When you Google Toby & Layla, you will not find any Farms… just pure VALUE.
I asked him, how long does it take to milk all your animals? How long does it take to tend to your crops? After hours of work on your Farm, how much do you get paid?
The Online Marketing Strategies that Toby and I teach will NOT work themselves while you’re tending your sheep. I have said it before and I will say it again… You must INVEST your time, not just SPEND it.

You guys totally hit this one on the head. Let me share something which might help some people. About 2 years ago now my wife and I played WoW avidly. (World of Warcraft) To say this game is addicting is the understatement of the century. These cheesy little app games have nothing on WoW. We were spending upwards of 8 – 12 hours per DAY M-F on this game, not including the entire weekend, usually 16+ hours doing raids (Multi-person dungeons) We are very, VERY good at WoW. About a year ago we realized that even though I had a good paying job, we were missing something called a LIFE.
Had we put 1/10th of the time into a business or MLM that we put into this stupid game, we’d have been on the track to financial independence a LOT sooner.
So take it from a former ‘game’ addict. Drop the games cold, cancel your account if you play for more than 30 minutes a day, and get serious about your life… or continue to be in the 95% to 97% of people in the world who will continue to complain that they don’t have ‘time’ do improve their lives and seize their own destiny, as financial freedom eternally eludes them. I can guarantee you that in 10 years you aren’t going to say “Gee, I wish I’d wasted more of my life playing WoW, Mafia Wars, or Farmville.” You WILL however say… “My God, I wish I’d better utilized the past decade… where did all the TIME go?”
There is nothing that people will defend with more venom and vitriol than their habits and addictions. If this comment upsets YOU… you need to look at the WHY. I’ve seen people defend the games they play and the time they waste more than their daughter’s virtue. If that sounds like you, step up to the plate, be a leader, and get rid of the silly non-educational games. You truly DO NOT have the TIME for it.

You know we all can have our silly game time… and I know there are a lot of well respected people who participate in Farmville. A lot of people tell us they don’t have money to market their business… we ask them if they have TIME.
Time is more valuable than money if invested in the right places.

Very enlightening article. I had no idea people PAID to play Farmville. All I knew about this silly game thus far was that one of my friends on Facebook posts his scores and ranks all the time. Spending…er… wasting time like that is why only 5% of the population makes it financially. Thanks for the great info.

Thanks for all your comments! We are just telling it like it is. If you want to be successful in this business, you are going to have to invest some time. Income generating activity… and Farmville isn’t in that category.
You guys are pulling no punches! Very good and very true! I think the say can be said for so many people in and out of mlm….is this how you want to spend your time? Then these are the same people who will complain about a lack of money, time, opportunities….sad really!
