After a lovely Italian dinner out with my parents, before Toby and I depart for Tampa, I come home and check my Facebook. We have been talking a lot lately about effective marketing strategies on Facebook so when I logged in and saw this notification I knew immediately an article must be written and this must be shared with the Internet world.

Imagine this, 200,000 people are joining an MLM home business every single week. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the Internet is exploding Network Marketing. So here you have all these new MLM distributors floating around the Internet, trying to figure it out.

Word to the Newbies: DO NOT DO THIS.

Take a look at the 2 following pictures and then let’s go over the mistakes one by one.

For the people that don’t know me, I am not a negative person by any means. By highlighting these mistakes, my only goal is to help people. By learning from the mistakes of others you are able to better your marketing knowledge and your success.

Mistake #1: Our friend Nick (who’s last name shall remain a mystery) does not even have a Picture. We are in the relationship business and people cannot build trust with a white silouette on a light grey background. People do business with people they know, like, trust. Get a Picture in your Facebook Profile, if it’s the least you can do.

Mistake #2: Is his comment relevant to the current discussion? Don’t throw a business pitch for your MLM home business anywhere there’s an empty text box. Read the content you are posting on and offer insightful feedback. We generate a solid amount of leads for our MLM business just from adding value in our comments.

Mistake #3: I did a quick word count and nearly 700 Words. No one is going to read a comment post on a wall that is 700 words. If writing an article, the suggested length is between 400 and 700 words. This is for a full value packed article on your blog and other article directories, not a 1 inch comment box. This comes back to the fact that we are Professional Internet Marketers… not the used car salesman. Be the invited guest.

If you are using Facebook to market your MLM home business you need to know this. In life we all know that you get one chance at a first impression. This is especially the case in Social Networking sites like Facebook and LinkedIn.

People are looking for leaders, not pitchers. It’s human nature to want to follow a leader. If someone saw our friend Nick post that on my wall, would they look at him as a successful business owner or a faceless icon on a screen spamming about a juice?

Did you know the average American spends 5 hours a day watching television? One hundred and fifty one hours a month. This finding was way higher than the figure of 3.8 hours per day or a measly 120 hours per month TV watching by Americans that reported by another research firm last year.

Toby and I are CSI fanatics. It’s our only television weakness and to be honest we watch it on our computer screen between the Webinars and the Training Calls. However, with so many people in today’s society parking themselves on the Lazyboy, it’s no wonder the economy has taken a dive.

Instead of worrying about if the Bachelor will pick Lucy or Sarah (I love how they call it reality TV even though in reality… who could fall in love with a camera 3 feet away from your every move?) that time SHOULD be spent on working towards a future for you and your family.

Who has heard the objection – I simply don’t have the time?

We all have 24 hours in a day. 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for your average work day, so let’s just focus on the 8 hours that are left. Assuming we are healthy human beings and eat at least 3 meals a day, we will slot 2 hours for eating and preparation and 1 hour for physical activity (this is under the presumption that we are in fact healthy human beings). Okay, 5 hours left. According to the statistics, the average American spends the rest of their time in front of the TV. Unless they are watching the Discovery or History Channel, they are learning nothing. Is this type of activity doing anything for the Asset column or your bank account?

Rather than watching that hour long episode (which without commercials is really only about 35 minutes), why not get online and plug into an Online System that’s going to give you a step by step blueprint and all the training you need to ensure that your Computer is sending you paychecks. Who here uses Facebook? Most of us, right?

Over the past few days I’ve been getting quite a few messages about the new Online MLM Company, Blastoff.

I wanted to make sure that all our readers have all the right information about this new Internet based company, so I decided to do a little bit of homework.

Blastoff is a new launch pad to the internet and is partnering up with a little company we all know, Prepaid Legal. This is the first time that an existing MLM company has partnered with this type of Viral Platform.

So I sat through all the videos, telling me why I should Blastoff. The concept is definitely well laid out. Blastoff has done a good job of optimizing on the popular new trend of Blogging. Basically using a blogging platform, you can customize your Internet Launch pad by downloading widgets of your favourite News Stations, Music & Videos, Blogs, Social Network, Games and Shopping.

The new online web platform launches officially in October. Obviously there is the start-up concern, what makes this online shopping company any different than any other online shopping company? Why is Blastoff going to be part of the 10% of Start-Ups that DON’T fold within a year? The flashy videos might help, the trendy desktop display with icons that you can customize and reorganize might help. What is going to set your Blastoff site apart from the hundreds of other replicated company websites out there? You can change the colours of course, but are you not offering the same thing as everyone else?

The concept of online shopping isn’t new, no matter how much Blastoff promotes their company as “Revolutionary.” The partnership with Prepaid Legal does however, make it unique. All Prepaid Legal members are entitled to early registration before the launch date.

The question that I had, and many others are probably wondering, what do Legal Services have to do with Online shopping? Prepaid Legal is keeping all the particulars of the partnership under wraps but they do state that Blastoff “will not replace their current marketing methods, but are simply introducing a new web-based marketing process that is so complete it will change their entire marketing program as well as improve their existing business model.” What does that really mean though?

The one advantage that Blastoff does have, compared to the other Start-Up companies out there, is their direct correlation to an established company like Prepaid Legal. It definitely does improve their chances of survival. We must commend Prepaid Legal for tapping into a market that is growing by the day, the Internet.

Welcome to the 21^st century!

Here’s the truth, and watch out… it might hurt. If you’re thinking about switching companies to be on the “ground floor” of a 30 year old “new” company because what you’re doing right now isn’t working…. what you’re doing isn’t going to work with this one either.

The key, CHANGE what you are doing. Stop blaming your company or your comp plan, “If only my company had flashy websites.” “If only my company had a better video.” You are going to get caught in the same cycle of non-success unless you step away from the company and start marketing YOURSELF.

People are not looking for a NEW problem, they are looking for solutions. Get involved with a system where you are offering them value and training on how to make their current company successful for them. THAT’S what people want, and THAT’S how all the top earners in any company are doing it.

In closing, Blastoff looks like a trendy new website… but it sounds like a new problem for Networkers rather than a solution.

We have a question for you…

Are you leading with your company when you are Prospecting or Marketing?

If so, you are set up for short comings.

The reason behind this and I’m sure you have heard the saying “people join YOU not your company” and this is so true.  As a society we are driven by the fear of pain, not by the want of pleasure. Crazy to believe that most of us run around this great big earth trying not to get hurt instead of  doing everything humanly possible to reach our goals. Some of us don’t even have goals. In my eyes and many others this is the most important starting point for any life journey.

It doesn’t matter what MLM company you are working with or how great your “ORAC” score is or how cheap you can call anywhere in the world. It’s about “You” and what you can provide to your consumer. Can you solve there problems? This is the question you have to ask yourself. If that answer is no, then you need to evaluate what you are doing and what you are trying to accomplish.

As I said before, as a society we are driven by fear of pain, so if you can provide a solution and lead someone into the pleasure zone while staying well clear of the pain district, you are in business. You see the word “lead” that I used? This is another very important factor in any Industry, Leading. It is in human nature to either lead or be led. So obviously it’s the same in business. Individuals are looking for a “Leader” not another problem, also known as your “Company”.

Anyone can go out there and shout about how good there product is and the benefits from using it, but the success there is short lived. You need to be able to Lead anyone and everyone away from there pain and into the pleasure zone we are all searching for.

Look at this in a different light. Let’s take “Hollywood”.  We have all seen the big stars having there own entourage and the people in it getting more confidence and social stature because of who they are associated with. It’s exactly the same thing in the wild. The “Alpha” male usually is the leader of the pack protecting the others and leading by example. The leader is normally bigger in physical attributes or mental standings. If you could implement this into your business you would very soon see a huge difference in not only your posture but your bank account.

The great thing about the home based business industry is that when you are leading your team to their success, you reach yours as well. The more value you give, the more people we train, the better your business will be.

So don’t be one of the “Beta” Networkers, floating around out there posting more problems and no solutions. Find yourself the proper training you need to make money online, the right way.

Now pay attention here. You can insert your HTML code into the box; HOWEVER you must use the Raw HTML code.
