We live in a fast paced society. Toby and I speak with people on a daily basis that are looking for the Microwaved MLM Success in their Home based business. They want 100 MLM leads to come in a day, they want their downline to explode and they want it in 2:37 minutes.

It’s funny to think of a society without Microwaves. Imagine having to cook everything on the stovetop or in the oven? How would we ever make popcorn?

We bet that if you go to your microwave right now you would see something like “00:13″ still flashing on the screen.

So not only do we want our food cooked in 3 minutes, but we can’t even wait the entire 3 minutes!

We pop the door open with 13 seconds left.

Think of your MLM business like a Prime Rib Roast. Would you pop it in the microwave and expect succulent and melt in your mouth results?

Or does it need time, effort and care to create a masterpiece and have the end product we’d expect from a Prime Rib Roast?

This industry isn’t a lottery ticket, and whoever gave you that impression was severely misinformed.

If you want 100 leads a day it is going to take time and work.

Toby and I often talk about branding yourself on the Internet. What does that really mean and what’s it going to take?

It means that you have to create a presence for yourself and the only way to make that happen is with some dedicated hard work. Creating a blog is a good starting point. Yes you want high conversion rates on your capture pages and auto-responders and lists, BUT you need somewhere where people can see the true you. A blog tells people you are more than a video on a capture page, you are someone that invests time and knowledge back into the industry.

Consistency and Persistency are our 2 favourite words.

If you are providing value to Forums and Social Media Sites on a consistent basis, people will begin to recognize that. However if you blast Facebook with your capture pages for 4 days straight (The Microwave Method) and are hoping for the leads to start pouring in and suddenly on Day 5 you will wake up to 14 voicemails from people wanting to join your business… you will be sadly disappointed.

So don’t treat your MLM home based business like a Hot Pocket that you can set to cook for 3:00 minutes and it will be ready. If you want to see real MLM online success, and you want to have more business leads than time… put some TLC into that Prime Rib Roast and the results will be delicious.

Farmville makes its money by selling virtual items and I was SHOCKED to see these online game applications had generated 2 Billion dollars is sales last year! So not only are millions spending their time on something that adds nothing to their asset column, but now they are spending Billions of dollars on it too. Wow.

People will join you and your MLM business because you offer them leadership and value. If I see that my leader is spending his time on Farmville, how on earth is he going help me achieve the success I want? How can this Internet Time Waster possibly know how to help me? New Networkers are looking for Mentors that can teach them what they need to do to generate results and income. When you Google Toby & Layla, you will not find any Farms… just pure VALUE.

I asked him, how long does it take to milk all your animals? How long does it take to tend to your crops? After hours of work on your Farm, how much do you get paid?

Once you’ve read this article, not only will you have had your daily chuckle, but you’ll see a perfect example of What Not To Do when Marketing your MLM Home Business Online.

After a lovely Italian dinner out with my parents, before Toby and I depart for Tampa, I come home and check my Facebook. We have been talking a lot lately about effective marketing strategies on Facebook so when I logged in and saw this notification I knew immediately an article must be written and this must be shared with the Internet world.

Imagine this, 200,000 people are joining an MLM home business every single week. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the Internet is exploding Network Marketing. So here you have all these new MLM distributors floating around the Internet, trying to figure it out.

Word to the Newbies: DO NOT DO THIS.

Take a look at the 2 following pictures and then let’s go over the mistakes one by one.

For the people that don’t know me, I am not a negative person by any means. By highlighting these mistakes, my only goal is to help people. By learning from the mistakes of others you are able to better your marketing knowledge and your success.

Mistake #1: Our friend Nick (who’s last name shall remain a mystery) does not even have a Picture. We are in the relationship business and people cannot build trust with a white silouette on a light grey background. People do business with people they know, like, trust. Get a Picture in your Facebook Profile, if it’s the least you can do.

Mistake #2: Is his comment relevant to the current discussion? Don’t throw a business pitch for your MLM home business anywhere there’s an empty text box. Read the content you are posting on and offer insightful feedback. We generate a solid amount of leads for our MLM business just from adding value in our comments.

Mistake #3: I did a quick word count and nearly 700 Words. No one is going to read a comment post on a wall that is 700 words. If writing an article, the suggested length is between 400 and 700 words. This is for a full value packed article on your blog and other article directories, not a 1 inch comment box. This comes back to the fact that we are Professional Internet Marketers… not the used car salesman. Be the invited guest.

If you are using Facebook to market your MLM home business you need to know this. In life we all know that you get one chance at a first impression. This is especially the case in Social Networking sites like Facebook and LinkedIn.

People are looking for leaders, not pitchers. It’s human nature to want to follow a leader. If someone saw our friend Nick post that on my wall, would they look at him as a successful business owner or a faceless icon on a screen spamming about a juice?

Doctors and Lawyers spend years in school to have a successful career. The average Doctor makes 100-200k a year and works around the clock. This industry offers opportunities far beyond the paychecks of any Doctor, so to get there…

Did you know the average American spends 5 hours a day watching television? One hundred and fifty one hours a month. This finding was way higher than the figure of 3.8 hours per day or a measly 120 hours per month TV watching by Americans that reported by another research firm last year.

Toby and I are CSI fanatics. It’s our only television weakness and to be honest we watch it on our computer screen between the Webinars and the Training Calls. However, with so many people in today’s society parking themselves on the Lazyboy, it’s no wonder the economy has taken a dive.

Instead of worrying about if the Bachelor will pick Lucy or Sarah (I love how they call it reality TV even though in reality… who could fall in love with a camera 3 feet away from your every move?) that time SHOULD be spent on working towards a future for you and your family.

Who has heard the objection – I simply don’t have the time?

We all have 24 hours in a day. 8 hours for sleep, 8 hours for your average work day, so let’s just focus on the 8 hours that are left. Assuming we are healthy human beings and eat at least 3 meals a day, we will slot 2 hours for eating and preparation and 1 hour for physical activity (this is under the presumption that we are in fact healthy human beings). Okay, 5 hours left. According to the statistics, the average American spends the rest of their time in front of the TV. Unless they are watching the Discovery or History Channel, they are learning nothing. Is this type of activity doing anything for the Asset column or your bank account?

Rather than watching that hour long episode (which without commercials is really only about 35 minutes), why not get online and plug into an Online System that’s going to give you a step by step blueprint and all the training you need to ensure that your Computer is sending you paychecks. As the title says Layla and I are going to talk about how to explode your MLM business online by simply looking in the mirror. We often share marketing tips and strategies to online MLM success, but this one is different. Ok you will have to utilize more online strategies than  just looking in the mirror but that’s where it start’s. And If you don’t know where to start, how are you going to get to the end?

As I was shaving today looking into the mirror on this Beautiful Canadian Thanksgiving morning, I was thinking you know our success only started to come about when we took a long look at WHO we are, WHO we want to be and how others perceive US.

In the beginning of our MLM career we would be chasing everyone that moved and breathed, friends, family members or even strangers off the street.  We would try to sell them to join us in our MLM business. We felt desperate and that is NO way to run your business if you want to find MLM success.

Layla and I started doing a lot of reading, books on self – development, the MLM Industry, the Guru’s in it, the mind and it’s wealth, and tons of ebooks on online marketing tips from  to Ad copy to SEO. Also around the same time we let go of emotions attached to prospecting, you know the “rollercoaster”. Of course we still had lots of passion for what we were doing and our company and the Industry as a whole. But we let go of the thinking that every person we prospected needed to join us so we can start making money.

Layla and I turned our mindset into “they need us”, NOT “we NEED them”.

When you are out and about prospecting do you make the common mistake of saying to your self “oh this person would be so good Network Marketing”? By doing this you put preconceived notions of success on to someone and when they turn out to do nothing you are crushed and the rollercoaster emotions starts again.

You should get this into your head and write this down “Those that you think will, won’t and those that you think won’t, will”

How do you pump up your value level? How do you become the Hunted? How can you make yourself a Branded Leader on the Internet?

Knowledge is Power.

If you can speak to a prospect and teach them one thing they didn’t know about Online MLM Strategies, you have made yourself valuable. The undeniable truth is that most people are not marketing their MLM online properly. They are searching for online success, but have no idea where to look. If you can set yourself apart from this pack, and lead them to the promise land of free leads and teach them real marketing tips to generate traffic and sales, you become to Guru.

It all starts with the Mirror though. As you learn more, as you are taught by the best of the best, that person in the mirror will change.
